Why our numbers can differ from your actual results
- Mortgage & Auto Loan calculators use standard amortization math but don't account for lender-specific fees, rate locks, discount points, or underwriting adjustments. PMI is a rough estimate, not a quote.
- The Social Security estimator either uses a number you provide from your own SSA statement (most accurate) or, in "estimate from income" mode, assumes your current salary approximates your career-average earnings — a simplification that ignores your real 35-year earnings history, early-career income, and future wage growth. Only SSA has your actual earnings record.
- The Paycheck calculator estimates federal income tax and FICA using 2026 IRS figures and the standard deduction only — it does not model itemized deductions, tax credits, or your specific state/local tax code (you supply your own estimated rate).
- The Debt Payoff calculator assumes a fixed monthly payment and a constant APR, and does not account for fees, promotional rates, or minimum-payment rules that vary by lender.
- The Compound Interest calculator assumes a constant rate of return every year, which real investments do not provide — actual markets fluctuate.
